FDX Employee Stock Purchase Plan
Hi Guys! Does anyone use the FDX ESPP? I've been looking at the link and it's kind of vague in addressing any specifics other than how to sign up for it... Do we have any discount/lookback features? Is it classified as a Section 423? It seems like it's a non-qualified plan and the only benefit is the company picks up the purchase fees. Thoughts or experience? Thanks!

No discount, so yeah the only benefit is avoiding the fee to purchase the stock.
We have the lamest stock purchase plan for a Fortune 100 company (or even Fortune 500 company for that matter). Urban legend says it used to be a discounted stock purchase plan but pilots were selling it too soon so they got rid of the plan... which makes absolutely no sense to me because you can construct a discounted stock purchase plan with a minimum vesting period before allowing the shares to be sold, so why don’t we have that? boggles the mind I believe UPS pilots can purchase at a 5% discount fwiw |
Maybe that's something we can negotiate for a better deal when we hand over our retirement! :D:eek:

Sorry - that ship has sailed. We already offered to give it away for free.

So, I decided to sign up for the ESPP. No time like the present. My last pay stub showed an ESPP amount debited from my check, but nothing is showing up in the Compushare account. How long does it usually take to show up as a pending transaction?

Transaction is once a month
Usually around the 1st business day and add in a couple for the processing to show up Generally in view about the 5th |

think I'll send an email off to our R&I folks.
This day and age it's tough for me to understand why a purchase is limited to once a month. The 0$ brokerage fee is nice, but isn't nearly the advantage it used to be considering the discount trades available these days as well. |
It used to be very expensive to sell shares through Compushares. I had to transfer them to my brokerage account (for a small fee, if I recall correctly) and then sell them. This may have changed since it was over five years ago when I did this.

You are correct, they stuck it to you on the back end.
Not sure if that is still true, but it was cheaper to transfer to another broker as the transfer fees were less. I always thought that was disingenuous on their part. |
