FDX / UPS Captain Research Survey

Greetings fellow express delivery pilots. I am a Captain at FDX and a student working on my Master's Thesis. I would like to invite you to take a short survey that I have designed as part of my thesis research.

The survey should take less than 2 minutes of your time. It is designed as a first in a series of surveys that will hopefully help me pinpoint the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to be a successful Captain at FDX and UPS. Thank you for your time and assistance with this project.

Why don’t you put this on jetflyers, where we won’t all wonder whether or not you are who you say you are...

busdriver12 05-13-2019 06:07 AM

Way too polite and formal to be a FedEx captain. Prove me wrong, and post this on Jetfliers, as propilot suggested.

Not sure if you know this, but there has been a history on this board of people doing surveys that lied about who they were and why the survey was being done. Not saying you are doing this, but that makes many of us skeptical and unlikely to participate.

I think the FB suggestion is a good option.

Is this a joke?

urinmyseat 05-14-2019 03:23 AM

So, if I'm not on snap facechat book, I must not be a FedEx pilot? Some of us old guys don't know what jetflyers is. Is that like Buck Rodgers?

Moosefire 05-14-2019 04:06 AM

A user on JetFlyers (should) be confirmed against the seniority list since we use real names over there. There’s plenty of folks in the APC FedEx forums that are not FedEx pilots.

Not a big deal for a harmless survey, just pointing out the merits.

Jetfliers is the FedEx pilot Facebook page, for FedEx pilots only. Many people on there, and it's a great site. If you have questions about anything a FedEx pilot might know, whether it's layover, travel, contractual, complaints, anything, you can get answers. Plenty of pilot humor. I only joined Facebook so I could join Jetfliers.

The evils/destruction of critical thinking/SJW atmosphere of FB far outweigh the positive influence of JetFlyers. If there was any other way to access the data/chat on JF, I would totally do it.

As long it involves FB, I will never be a part of it. Sucks for me I guess. Couple decades of uninformed decision making await me I suppose.

You don't have to get deeply involved in Facebook. Just create a page, friend no one, never put up a comment on your page. You don't have to get involved in anything, but then you can go on the Jetfliers page. I was anti-Facebook for years, still do not get involved in it much, but it was worth it. You're missing some hilarious stuff.

The internet is scary.

Is there any info there from folks wanting to sell commuter/airport cars? Or does anyone here have a resource? Just checking before I go down to crazy Al’s lot and take my chances. :D

I didn't see a specific section on Jetfliers about selling cars (but there might be one). However, you just post about it and you'll get responses from many people. Plenty of helpful information on there.

And who wants to make Mark Zuckerdork more $. It is not a free service...it comes with the cost of your information. The world would be better without FB

...I’m fine with it. Welcome to 2010. I’d rather have ads tailored to me than irrelevant garbage for a broad demographic. Every major account you have tracks your data, being it spending habits or metadata. Facebook has become the whitepages of the modern world, if you don’t like spending time on it, don’t.
