I had the same problem about 6 month ago. I emailed the developer, and he said to completely uninstall and reinstall on my laptop. I did, however it kept giving me the same errors after the install.
I emailed again, but he didn't have an fix. I let my membership expire. I miss it greatly, let us know if you get a fix.

I had the same problem on one computer. I uninstalled. No help. Tried the 32 bit vs 64 bit program. No help.
I was preparing to buy a new portable computer just to get this fixed. Paul's program is that valuable to me.
My (Cybersecurity) son went in and found lingering files in an obscure directory. He found them by searching for phrases unique to the program. I forget the details. He deleted them all.
He installed a new copy of program in portable computer. Worked well. But no history for me to look at for recent expense reports etc.
Then he copied recent monthly files to a gig stuck from desktop computer. Transferred them to the troublesome computer. Voila ... all working well on both computers.
I love both products that our two very valuable pilots provide us. They could be charging a lot more.

I got it to work, here's what I think happened and what I did...
I have an ACER laptop, Windows 10 Home, 64bit, bidx version 2.7.3 was running perfectly.
Downloaded the July bidpack, bidx told me it was corrupt and needed to download it again. Saw the update for 2.7.4, and downloaded that update as well. Bidx would not run after that update, and kept telling me the file is corrupt, download a new bidpack.
Deleted bidx, tried installing all the different versions on the website, no luck, same results as above. I thought that was weird that I couldn't even get the 2.7.3 working again. Noticed the .bdp bidpack icons on my desktop were now generic blank icons now....so the bidpacks were now not associated with bidx as the default program to open them with.
Tried right clicking on the bidpack file and using the 'open with' option, and saw that bidx wasn't listed as a program to open the .bdp file with and if I double clicked on the .bdp file, windows wanted to open it up with some other program (think it was IE ActiveX Interface Marshaling Library). Had to go to settings>Apps>Apps and features and under installing apps, select allow apps from anywhere. (Some reason I think windows was blocking bidx from opening a .bdp file and to download properly??).
Then I installed bidx again and voila, bidpack icons changed to bidx icons and 2.7.3 is running.
Also, verify a few things:
1) Go to Settings>Apps>Default Apps>Choose Default Apps by File Type: scroll down and make sure .bdp files are set to open with Bidx
and
2) Right click on bidx shortcut and select Run as administrator.
Correct me if I'm worng about the process, but I got it to work...good luck.
