West coast Fedex hub, ~ 4 hrs block.
I decided to go through IND. I just called since it's less than 24 hrs for the first flight, thinking it could be booked all the way through as one reservation. She got me booked to IND. But the IND departure is at 320am and she said I'll have to call back then because it's beyond 24 hrs. So even if you're connecting the same night, fly-thru, you still have 2 distinct and separate reservations? If that's the case, once I get to IND do I have to re-checkin somewhere and go through security again?

Going to Indy, push back, both igniters failed for right engine. MX tried resets but it didn’t work. Aircraft grounded. They air turned another 767 to rescue this one, and then head to MEM. I waited til it landed and started loading, but it became fairly obvious that loading was going slow and I would miss my connection in MEM. Taking a cab back now and will try pax carriers tomorrow morning.

though as a guy who lives in base and only commutes to see family, it shouldn’t happen the 2-3 times/yr I jumpseat

Ain’t that the truth. I thought the 767s were nice, newer, less likely to break down. The 25-30 yr old MD11 and A300 trucked on all night and got to LA just fine. No worries, I got a Delta jumpseat on the first nonstop in the morning and took a nap before the trip. Thanks again.
As for the guy asking about food, I actually did get a small snack box with the Fedex logo while we were waiting for MX to try to fix.
