Looks like the ITU Slots for September nearly complete the training for vacancy 19-01 Eligible bidders. There will only be a few
categories remaining with very few eligible bidders.
Following that logic, 19-01 could see the few remaining eligible bidders with October Systems class dates. Add their 3 months to training completion and that takes us through Peak and into 2021.
Based on that, I don’t see another System Bid until January. Late Fall (Oct/Nov) at the earliest (to meet the new training date notification timeframe).
They've really stretched out the training of eligible bidders for 19-01. Turned it into a two year vacancy (2019 & 2020).

There will be some capacity to do it, just that new hires will only go to the 757 until a new bid is accomplished once all non-filled widebody slots are filled from the previous bid. (I have no idea if the 757 has the training capacity that they will need though). At least that is how I understand how the system works. Someone will clarify if I'm wrong.

Doesn't have to be, but also doesn’t seem necessary to do it earlier. All deliveries got pushed back a bit with production closures do to COVID. They haven’t been in any hurry to get folks trained on 19-01. And then there’s the issue of Peak. They typically don’t train as heavily during Peak. So that’s just my best guess.

Considering our volumes are presently at “peak-plus” I’m sure they’re trying to keep as much manpower on the line as possible. I’m very ready for a bid but can at least understand what they’re doing a bit

Their are still numerous unfilled vacancies from bid 19-01 as previous posters have stated. They will trickle new hires into these vacancies through the rest of this year. They could easily get through peak with what we have and a few new hires. Rumor is that is the plan. Just buy back vacations for those willing to sell and draft a tone. They would rather pay more to those on property than over hire. They learned that from the over hiring the last 2 years. FedEx generally runs a lean ship and they moved away from that position in 2018/2019. They then had an overstaffed situation as things slowed a bit. Now we have more demand than we can handle. Crazy how one day things look slow and the next the money machine is printing.
