Any updates if FedEx is interviewing/hiring new pilots? A buddy is hoping to get on ASAP.

definitely hiring into HKG this year

No planned Interviews, 200 in the hiring pool, and latest rumor is that we'll only be taking on 50 from the pool this year.

Running a new hire class in mid-March for HKG base only.

Where did this rumor of 50 come from? Anyone else hear this?

Crew room rumor is a class of 8 for March, a class of 8 for April. No information in the rumor about after April, I suppose it depends on the virus. Oh, and all 16 go to HKG, so they have that going for them.

Another rumor from a maintenance person is they are looking at ramping up KIX for Asia sort. He said maintenance people are being asked to go to KIX for 30 day assignments.

Another rumor is that since China shut down a bunch of factories there is lots of freight piling up in Paris and ANC. Expect extra flying next several weeks as China reopens to clear the backlog.

Next Class of 8 to HKG confirmed. They’ll start their Basic Indoc in April.

“Hiring to other FedEx bases this Summer.”

“Eight pilots from the crewmember pool who previously expressed interest in a foreign duty assignment (FDA) have been offered and accepted positions as FedEx Express First Officers based in Hong Kong. These new hire pilots begin Basic Indoctrination (BI) class on March 19th. A second class of eight, also for the Hong Kong base, will be offered positions to start BI in April. We anticipate their arrival in the Hong Kong base will begin in late July this summer.

We hope to begin hiring for other FedEx Express bases this summer, and will keep you informed of our plans when they are finalized. As I am sure you can understand, addressing COVID-19 and maintaining operations worldwide have been where our efforts have been focused these past couple of months. As we approach the end of our fiscal year, our collective attention hones its focus on fiscal year 2021 and beyond, and we expect to be able to share more specific information about crewmember hiring for bases other than Hong Kong in the coming months.

We are excited to announce that flight management has recently met and approved FedEx Express to provide hotel rooms for the duration of BI for all new hire crewmembers. When possible, the first three nights will be at the Peabody Memphis, the “South’s Grand Hotel,” located in the heart of downtown Memphis, a historical landmark that opened in 1869. We feel this is a great opportunity for the crew member and their guest to experience the unique and welcoming culture of the south. The remaining 10 nights of BI will be at a conveniently located hotel in Southaven, MS, not far from our training facilities.
