MD-11 Asia Trip Tidal Wave

MD-11 Asia Trip Tidal Wave
For those watching MD-11 open time:
I see there were approximately 130 trips added yesterday after the CP's email was sent out. Most of them remain frozen.
Am I to expect that they will keep everything Fz until the assignment window for that trip gets closer? I assume the farther out the trip, the more unknowns are associated with it. If I grabbed a trip starting in 3 weeks, there is currently no guarantee that trip will go as published or even go at all.
It's just nuts to see so many trips...and absolutely no way for a pilot to affect his schedule. I'm losing domestic flying from my awarded line due to "equipment changes" as the MD sheds domestic trips to the Bus/76. So as my schedule is evaporating, I can't even go into OT and try to pick stuff up. I'm hoping that those pilots who grab the big intl trips will drop domestic stuff for those that want it...but if the company is just going to move those trips off the MD, the net result is the same.
Am I thinking about this correctly? What am I missing? Thanks.

You’re missing the fact you cannot AVA with a footprint.

Was the email from MD11 fleet captain? I did not see one from SCP? What was reason for all the extra MD11 trips. I am a 777 guy and we have not had many extra trips lately. Still a lot in open time though. 777 guys getting burned out? Glad you guys are getting some of the pie

No, I get the AVA 7 days prior to showtime math. That’s the goal.
Just hypothetically asking why everything is frozen.
Yes, the email was from AM, the MD CP.

If anyone picks up one of those trips at straight time, they deserve to get sprayed in the face at PVG. If you have a footprint, be patient and get draft. No way they can fill these trips with reserves. Probably no more than 10 of them.
