Covid19 Immigration/CDC Hassles
My last trip to Mainland China was early January, since the every time I go through immigration it a hassle. The system automatically selects you for the same questioning.
A few days ago something interesting happened when I explained to the officers that I hadn’t be to China since January which is more than the required 14 days. He questioned me about a few commercial flights into China late February. The thing is that pairing was cancelled. I then ask them if they’re tracking our schedules and another lady replied yes. They then went in their system and saw the pairing was cancelled. It took about an 30 minutes trying different numbers for CDC before I could get cleared. I was told to expect that every time I come through immigration.
With that said, they were very professional and friendly through the entire ordeal. We were all laughs and giggles as we tried to figure it out. They realize I was crew from the get go, so that probably help. Just know that their system tracks our schedules.

I think the company needs to take a lesson from these good people and start requiring we wear the same protection they are.

Wow, so now US immigration is logging into our VIPS and tracking our schedules? Impressive, who knew they had that capability? And to think, sometimes the schedulers don't even know where we are, but immigration can view our current and cancelled pairings. Nice.Maybe I can ask them to tell me what some of the calendar blockers are flying.
