Well when things hit bottom, there is only one way to go. “UP”

Nope. There's always sideways with a slow, gradual increase which would be way worse than a V-shaped recovery.
The details and nuance of our CEO's analysis is apparently lost on some

A sliver of optimism amongst all the doom and gloom... I hope he's right

Measuring from the horizontal plane. 80 degrees down angle and then 30 degree up angle, kind of a lazy “V” pattern qualifier. Highly doubtful to be a pure “V” for sure. This involves too many areas of our economy (global impact as well) and unfortunately emotions to recover as fast as it fell. Definitely recover though; hopefully businesses we saw/used/owned/worked for prior to this remain intact and as prosperous as before.

Fred did not once mention shareholder value over the next quarter. By Wall Street standards he should be removed for dereliction of duty. Instead, he spoke of long-term fundamentals, long-term investment, and long-term economic trends. What the hell is wrong with this guy?

I just hope that when he retires, he has positioned a replacement that can get by with that sort of craziness.
