The Rules

Just because they just started testing where you live doesn't mean that you could not get tested somewhere else. They probably don't do heart surgery in your county either, but if you needed it you coud get it.

The Rules
First, testing isn't widely available in my area. Glad you think you know more about where I live than I do.
Second, you made it personal in post #76. You might not think you made it personal first or participated in making it personal by calling me childish, but to paraphrase you, if you don't see it, it says a lot about you!

That was in response to your deja vu comment. But I apologize that you inferred any personal insults in that response. It wasn’t meant in any other way other than that if you and I disagree, it doesn’t make a difference in my life.
I’ll also add to clarify, and maybe come to a common point, there are not enough tests for everyone in the country to take on a regular basis. That was never what I was trying to say. Nor did I ever say there were wherever you live. Which is precisely why I qualified my first response to you with “in certain areas.” In NYC, Cuomo said there were more tests than people taking at drive up locations. In LA county, there are enough tests for them to advertise them to anyone who wants one.

Per company
We have received direction from the Board of Airline Representatives in Japan (BOAR) reaffirming that foreign airline crew members must remain in the hotel in order to maintain our allowance to avoid COVID-19 testing and mandatory quarantine upon arrival.
What part of this is too hard to understand? Are you really that incompetent?Rog, I''ll relax.

Because there are any number of places where the company has maintained far more restrictive policies then the local authorities are requiring. And before you say that is a rumor... STOP .... I am currently staying at a hotel where the UPS pilots are allowed out in town and we are not.
Furthermore KIX has some unique aspects that make the issue not as cut and dried as you would like to claim. So we are not allowed out of the hotel, exactly how do you define the hotel? The lobby on the first floor has shops that are not “in the hotel,” 50 feet from the registration desk there is an escalator that leads down one floor. Immediately below the desk there are a bunch of shops... are they part of the hotel? 7/11 is about 100’ away still under the hotel ...is that part of the hotel? We are allowed to the 11th floor sports pub with an outdoor patio... is that still apart of the hotel.... We can agree that grabbing public transportation and going away is wrong but how about the other “shades of grey” that I mentioned above?
The company is taking a page out of “lessons for liberals” and never letting a crisis go to waste. Attempting to divide the crew force leading into contract negotiations starting in November... Sheep are slaughtered, I am not advocating blatant violations of the rules. However do not make the mistake of simply sitting back and condemning people for questioning exactly what are the rules. I have no idea how much flying you are doing internationally, but as someone who lives in Asia I can tell you the company rules frequently do not make sense and are far more restrictive than the local authorities are requiring. The company is taking advantage of certain situations AND with the recent change in management, they have locked down on many issues and definitely cranking up the “optimizer.” We are feeling the effects out here.
The restrictions are not going away in certain specific locations. The cancelation of the OIM payments are just one example where the company is going to keep the restrictions on us to ensure they can move the freight and along the way try to save some money at our expense....
Contract expires in November, lets start focusing on the fact that the company will use the MOU and current trends as the basis for “status quo” and beat us over the head with it when people decide to stop flying AVA/draft. I am far more worried about the precedents that have been set with operational DH’s, duty limit modifications, abuse of the RAT, monkeying with AVA availability, hotel standby’s etc.....
