Well, that's definitely not the case for HKG FO. Maybe you just had bad timing? I've had that happen to me, where it seemed like everyone was getting AVA yet I kept getting denied. I know a few FOs that already have AVA for June and/or have been extended into June.

Just because they list vacation buy back doesn't mean they are actually doing it. Some seats yes --- i think they bought a lot of 777 vacation last few months. I'm pretty senior in the 76 and they haven't bought any of mine. i usually don't sell mine back but since the Covid thing is going on I had to cancel my planned vacations I thought what the heck I'll try it.
