Latest on OJI JS'ing on FDX
With all the sh!t going on, haven't been able to keep up. Especially having been sitting at home for a few months.
Is it allowed domestic? ( Thought I heard back in March that there was a period of not being allowed?)
Process as described on ALPA.org? (It would be my first time on FDX)
I have my Covid beard going, trimmed, but still a beard... I assume clean shaven is a must?
Still catered? Or should I plan on bringing a sandwhich/snacks? Depending on my destination it may be a 3 leg trip, or 2 legs for an airport an hour away.
Thanks

Jump seating hasn’t really changed. You have to wear a mask while you’re in the air operation center. And it is captains discretion once you’re on the aircraft. He will still be catered if the flight was due to give catering to a jump seater. I have carried several off-line jumpseaters between Memphis and Chicago in the last month and everything has been ops normal.

Its relatively unchanged, the folks on the Jumpseat line you call to list on can answer any specifics. On a domestic leg there will not be catering for a Jumpseater so plan on bringing snacks... there is a self serve snack bar in the Memphis jumpseat lounge that has concessions including prewrapped sandwiches and salads for purchase too.

I've been using FDX more often recently to commute since the passenger carriers reduced their schedule. It's been normal so far and a very pleasant experience as always. I board wearing a mask and if the crew tells me I can take it off I remove it, otherwise I keep it as a courtesy. Thanks for getting me home!

Your obliviously lack or care of this pandemic effect on others by your inquiries leaves me aghast. I’m happy you can gleefully grow a beard and honestly ask the questions on this forum having never used our jumpseat. The privilege you seek is astonishing. Did you even phone our JS admin before posting? Golf clubs, roller board, beard, free food....Are you a Kardanshien?
