Domestic COVID OIM
Has there been a push by the union to create some kind of agreement for incentives to fly in the US during COVID similar to the China OIM? I get the “company would never go for it” argument, but honestly I don’t think we should fall on our swords without even attempting an agreement. COVID has been statistically more detrimental here than it ever was in the Asian cities we operate. Not to mention the fact that it’s impact on us won’t be diminishing anytime soon. Thoughts?

And FYI, “falling on your sword” doesn’t mean give up. It’s usually used to indicate accepting blame over failure. |

What metric are you using to measure “detrimental”. Does it take you 2.5 to 4 hours to get to your hotel after you block in? Are you quarantined in your hotel room for the duration of your layover? Are you forced to stay on the aircraft and restricted from entering the AOC and using a sleep room during hub turns? All still happening in China.

Seeing that the company just recently pulled out of the China OIM, I would say the odds of a domestic version are none.
