FWIW. Every new regional guy I’ve flown with has been great to fly and hang out with...when you can grab food and drinks on a layover.

I'm a former regional guy, and spent over 10+ years working numerous crappy aviation jobs. The last thing I ever want to see at what I hope is my final airline is a crappy contract. I really like it here, I Iike the people here, and I'm looking forward to us developing an industry leading contract.

And this is coming from a guy who bragged about his $320k+ pay in his third year. I agree with you 100%. Once people get addicted, it's hard to break the habit.
Even the OP of this thread has picked up extra pairings and not protected min days off. It's easy to tell others what to do.

All regional pilots here are union pilots with the exception of just one regional. Each of those regionals Union dealt with the reality of their specific airline in order to maximize their opportunities or minimize their misfortunes. In other words, they chose to use the tools available to them to do the best they can considering the circumstances. The fact that some worked for a crooked CEO or under bad economic circumstances, doesn’t mean anyone was trying to race to the bottom.

You sound like a really great guy. I hope I’m fortunate enough to have the privilege to fly with you some day.
