Possibly a stupid question: For the employment section, are you expected to put non-flying jobs? Say if you worked another job or had your own business while still flying? I would think just put N/A when it asks for airplane most flown.

As a prior mil guy I had a ground tour that I put in. I just put N/A for aircraft. I would add anything that can spice up your app and make it stand out.

I always put everything on apps. I let them decide if they cared or not. Better than having to explain why something is missing.

Hey y'all I'm pretty new to the game, been flying for a few years and my end game is Fed Ex if I can get there. I'm currently coming back from Furlough as an RJ FO. I have some TPIC in a large turbo-prop but not enough to make me eligible for FedEx. Should I continue logging 121 FO time and hope to upgrade some-day or try to find a 135 PIC job on a turbo-prop or a jet?

Hey guys, quick question... hows does fedex like time to be logged while flying with a four man crew? Currently im an f/o... how do you divide up the times for the logbook? Should you keep a separate IRO section?

Thats a great question for the crystal ball... You need PIC turbine.. 121 ops (since you are already there) would be ideal, but if its going to take you 3 years to get that, then go with the 135 gig if you can get it much faster there. You really have to decide where do you want to be (135 or your current 121 gig) if you don't end up here. (hopefully not, but just being realistic.)

It depends. If you’re Part 121, like me, take a look at 14 CFR Subparts Q-S. At my airline I’m accustomed to international ops. So block times typically range between the 9-12 hour range with a 4 pilot augmented crew. I legally can’t log more than 8 hours. I usually split the time down the middle unless someone’s tired & needs to rest a bit longer, then I happily stay in the seat to earn some extra flight time (up to 8 hours).

For me, I’ve always been conservative. If I’m on a 3 pilot crew and we fly a 7.0 with each pilot doing 2hrs on break, then I log 5.0 TT and 5.0 SIC.
I think legally PIC can be logged by one pilot while the captain is in the back on break but it seems to gray area for me and I prefer simplicity.
Maybe I’m leaving some hours on the table, thoughts?

Can you provide an example?
