Contract 2021
#51
Its not the first offer when we get it to vote on. Hints the term negotiations and the years it takes to get us something to vote on. The NC does the negotiations with the car dealer and we just come in at the end and say yes or no. If we say no we drive our car we arrived in off the lot and return to try again in a few months.

HAHA “you need to run for something”. I will vote for ya. Understand that blowhards on the Internet and actually doing those jobs are two different things. This is the reason so many play “know it alls” on Jet flyers and this site but never raise a hand. Talk is cheep. Ive done a volunteer job in a previous life and its not your way or the highway. You have to deal in facts and reality in those jobs. You have to find middle ground or nothing happens. All this while having a pilot group who all wants 10 different things and none are in common. Trying to please everyone is an impossible task. Let me know when you throw your name on the ballot though. I bet you wont. Friendly bet?

TA Offers and Money
I NEVER voted in favor of the first TA agreements .................. But you have those who are willing to take the word of the MEC office and take it on blind faith.
The biggest fear tactic the Union will tell you ................... This is the best offer we can get from the company, if not accepted we will get less. That's bullcrap and all of you know it. What it really means is that your Union is not going to fight for you for several reasons .............. BIGGEST REASON is they want to get it done and just like the last one, SPEND ALL THE MONEY that your dues paid for so they can beat their chest at NATIONAL and show them what a great job they did.
There is another tactic that ALL Union members can employ against this kind of abuse by the Union ................ Dues With holding. Get rid of it, tell the Company and the Union you will pay your dues but on your own time frame. You don't have to participate in Dues With Holding, period. Oh yea, you will have to pay a bit more if you pay your dues from your own checking account, but it will send a message to the Union that they cannot expect to get your money until you are ready to let them have it. You guys and gals are all in control of your money unless you allow someone to systematically take it from your paycheck every month. Don't get me wrong ............. You need the Union and the Union needs you. Without a CBA you will be working for HALF of what you are making and the Company will enjoy cutting the trimmings.

It is really difficult to understand how you could have such an attitude of "meh, good enough", while we are a key group in helping our Company makes BILLIONS in profits. Management gets their shares and dues, as they should. We however, need to demand our rightful share, and when times are good status quo ain't good enough. We are a group with a unionized voice and can demand our earned shares. Management will not just give it to us, or any other employee group, because we say "good enough, we don't have it hard".
Times are good now, maybe even great - due to an unforeseen and undesired pandemic that has landed us tons of flying. But there will come a time when things are not great, as those times arrive for everyone, and the Corp. will come after whatever gains we have made, and then some.
Hopefully you wake up and leave that attitude behind while times are good. I hope you don't fly and live your life with that attitude of "meh, good enough", I expect you don't. Don't do that with your career either, nor with mine!

Contracts
Don't give into the company, don't let your Union give into the company, the only way to get a decent contract is to sit it out and make the Union work for you and if they can't get the job done, get rid of them and find someone that can ....................
