Really? That would take at least a year to get a new airplane on the property. My guess is the company is looking at the big loads coming out of Asia and getting more 777's on those routes. The MD11 has been maxed out coming out of Asia and just doing a gas and go in Anc. My guess, 777 crew base Anc. And no, it won't go senior. Why would anyone bid Anc 777 when they can hold WB pay in Mem and fly the 777 out of Mem? Its not like the 777 schedule in Anc would be any better than Mem. And most guys forget, wives don't want to live in Alaska.

As Pat said this was for more robust opportunities for the crew force, I believe him. He is one of the good ones.

It might be a better commute from the west coast to Anchorage than trying to get to Memphis. Those wives (or husbands) might prefer to live there over Memphis. Also depends upon what the bidpack trips look like.

My guess again, realignment base on big loads out of Asia and that 6 more 777 are coming in the next year.

I’ve figured it out!! ATR72-600F completed its first test flight today. Can’t wait to bid this new aircraft type.

Also, CRK has one runway. CAN is extremely busy now with our ops on any given night, I don’t see how anyone that has been through there recently could possibly think CRK could take that over.
Finally, COVID is running rampant through the Philippines right now. There is absolutely no way they are going to put a new base out there when we can’t even leave the hotel room.
Just my perspective as a HKG guy that rolls through these places every week.

Yep. They’re finishing the outside structure now. It’s still insignificant compared to CAN, and I mean not even close.
