Does ALPA speak for you?

With the goings on reference to the soft parameters, I hope some of you are starting to see why I am asking you to get involved on the frontend of the process. Ounce of prevention, pound of cure. Which one is easier? Please contact your reps and let them know how you feel about these and any issue effecting you chosen profession. If not, will ALPA speak for you? Who knows. With retirement being the number one contract '21ish issue, will the MEC fight for what you want if you don't tell them? Who knows.

117 was a paycut for almost every airline out there except Southwest, now they just work 130% harder than before 117 for 115% of what they made before 117 (percentages pulled out of thin air, but they're definitely working much harder for only a little bit more cash)

Welcome new hires. Please avoid this site. Same old crap for 25yrs. Your leadership will sell you out contract after contract. Reps, guys you think you trust will sell you out. There will be some new plan to the advantage of the senior guys. I've seen it so many times. STOP flying extra and force the company to the table. You don't have to have an expired contract to get improvements to your work rules.

That's so funny. I forgot all about the bi-monthly burger cookouts the company put on to tell us thanks for all the hard work, last negotiation period. It's been so long since I've seen a "thanks for the hard work" food feeding, I forgot they were all last negotiating time frame. Over-under on 1 May for our next one? Right about openers!!!

First off, I find the younger pilots to be more engaged and knowledgeable. Secondly, contracts don't expire, the become amendable.
So my question to you is how many Local Council Meetings, Joint Council Meetings, or other ALPA sponsored meetings have you attended? Do you engage your reps? Volunteer?
I understand we are all busy with our lives, but if you don't get involved at all, who will? You are ALPA. That all there is to it. If you don't like what ALPA is saying on your behalf, fight to change it.

I would like to thank the scheduling chairman for reminding us that "safe, legal, reliable" is both a union and company issue in his latest scheduling committee letter.

Well done.
Now let's all support this effort!
