Really, how so? Did you see FDX ALPA's contract comparison? There were many things in our contract not industry leading.

With the industry on it's heals, do we really want to compare ourselves to the industry? How about comparing our current contract to say the 1999 or 2006 contract and see how much more we are working per pay hour. Inflation anyone? Nice Monday AM deadhead to turn that night anyone? Saying we are industry leading while we watch our fellow pilots struggle is disingenuous to say the least.

Treat me professionally, and compensate me fairly. Do we have that right now? That's the benchmark I am using.

What is the Union thoughts on Atlas Air opening a 747 crew base in MEM especially right before we go into contact negotiations? While the Union is asleep the company is in full motion and positioning themselves just in case. They don’t want to get caught with there pants down like last time. This is no coincidence or like some say it’s because we don’t have the lift. This is a strategic move by the company.
Since when do we control other airlines domiciles? We have scope language. The flying Atlas does either meets the language or doesn’t. If it doesn’t then the union grieves it. What am I missing?

Now if you don't like the scope language then that gets corrected in the negotiations we are currently in correct?

I bet we will increase subcontractor airframes going into peak like always. Thats nothing new. In 2015/16 we had 12 subcontractor airframes and they stayed well after peak. We currently only have 4-5. So this is nothing new and is temporary. These airplanes will all creat penalty payments so it doesn't go unpunished and is not free to the company per the CBA.

You’re not nearly angry enough to be posting. This forum is for the angry and irrational.

Yeh its kind of funny to hear the tantrums. Did we not also announce 20 more 767 last week. Another forum posted the future fleet numbers and if my memory serves me correct our trunk fleet is growing by 50ish airframes in the next 3-4 years. Doesn’t sound like an airline with plans to sub everything out to me. We have canceled flights and turned down business (This was in the news the last couple of weeks) due to no lift over the past year. This sounds like a temporary lift increase so we don't lose business. Would we all rather not move the packages and lose the business? Or would we rather take a few subcontractor airplanes until we can get caught up on hiring and airframes?

Scope wasn’t even part of our openers. Luckily, or probably not, management wants concessions in that section so they are opening it.

If that's the case why are so many ALPA members picking up draft and AVA; actually everyone I've flown with recently? Money talks.

Because we aren't a pilot group.

Because we are professionals at complaining while filling our own pockets any way we can. Typical for many in this group. Spend a 6 day draft trip gripping and bickering then doing it again and again.

Now you see where the “subcontractor” label comes from within our pilot group.

IF a pilot working for a company in negotiations as we were were to stop and extra flying, why would they do it before either the company or especially the union has even presented anything? I’ve seen nothing from the company and the union is being elusive about what they are really doing. Not flying extra has nothing to do with solidarity or being an indépendant contractor at this point.
