Openers?

Section 3 Compensation
Establish industry leading Hourly Rates of Pay (3.C. (p. 28))
- Currently Delta has the industry’s highest pay rates. A raise to meet or beat Delta would only amount to a 5% pay raise. Would this suffice to be “industry leading”? Would we meet this day one of the contract, or would it be “leading” at the end of the 6 yr contract that the union is negotiating? What happens when Delta passes a new contract and suddenly our “industry leading” pay rates are no longer “leading”?

Section 28 Retirement
- WTF knows what kind of breakfast the union is negotiating with the company? Most likely cold pancakes.

Section 5 Traveling Expenses
- Simplify non-contract hotel expense reimbursement procedure (5.A.7. (p.65))
How about cleaning up the entire steaming turd that is our expense report system. Tighten up language on receipts. Add an appeals process before allowing payroll deductions for “unauthorized” expenses.

Section 8 Deadheading
Improve deviation options when authorized class of service is not available on the scheduled flight (8.C.3.a.vi. (p. 123))
- How about demanding that a seat be booked on an airline that actually has a seat available in the class of service stated by the contract. Why should I have to deviate off of SWA on a 5+ hr flt just to get the class of service I’m entitled to?

Section 25 Scheduling
- No mention of real time trip trading? Probably the number one requested change to scheduling by the pilot group.

Just to list a few. Do you really know what your NC is negotiating? Do you trust them to get an industry leading contract? Their openers are vague by choice. Don’t list specifics and your pilots won’t be disappointed when we don’t obtain them. History has proven that we always walk away from the table way short of our goals. This time will be no different I fear.

FedEx Pilots
Troll alert!!!

Take a brief look at Galley’s posts to date. Every single post is Union bashing and offers zero in the way of information or input.

Fraud alert: This is more than likely another planted troll sent to sow seeds of discontent and confusion during negotiations.

Not taking your amateur bait. Not negotiating in public and Not bashing my Union.

BTW, the Union published the openers FOUR months ago! Guess you’re just reading those now ? No mention or concern that the Company hasn’t published their openers to us? Wonder why they haven’t? You probably know why- you probably have a copy. I bet they wouldn’t be so great for us… just a hunch.

My Negotiating Committee Speaks For Me!!

Go back to your cubicle.

Asking for yourself, or is that for the benefit of the other keyboard commandos?

If “you” agree with everything- and I am not saying you do, I think you’ve made it clear what your concern is; I would say they are always hiring new Managers. Perhaps that may be more interesting to “you” rather than flying the line.

I agree all those things need to be fixed and many others and I hope they are all being addressed. No desire to be a manager thanks. Currently flying my line and taking a big block of time off next month because I did not take the first or second offer to sell back my vacation.

I too have not voted yes for any TA in a very long time. Been voting no since the first FDA LOA.

I don't see how asking questions like the tread starter asked should bring up all this angst. They are good questions. Why would a management position in order? Again one of you said your NC speaks for you, but you can't know that unless they broke confidentiality. So which is it, you don't really know or they did speak out of turn?

I to want those and other questions answered. I know why I want them answered. And to say we shouldn't negotiate in public is fool hardy. The company knows our NC's position, the only people who don't is us. Try buying a car that way, Someone else is going to pick the car and how much you are going to pay for it. The features, heated seats, maybe. AC, maybe. The long range battery pack, maybe. Do you want a truck instead, maybe? The list goes on and on.

It is time the process matures. We have a right to know what others are saying on our behalf. If the process used during '15 is not proof enough, just go back and read the survey questions again and ask yourself what questions were not asked. Like HOW do you want the A-paln improved.

We can be trusted to fly around the world, day or night in all types of weather, but we are not allowed to know what our union is asking for at the table, How 2015.

Get informed or get '15 again.

I would love to see you guys get Delta top rate plus 5% to start, with a minimum of 3% (maybe 4 or 5 due to increasing inflation) annual raises. This is purely selfish, since it would give us a stronger comparison to justify bigger raises over at Brown. Also, hope you guys get a 10-20% (or bigger) bump in your pension max. Also, for the above mentioned selfish reasons. Hopefully, your NC brings home the bacon. Personally, I wouldn’t throw them under the bus unless they recommended approval of a real turd. Dissension in the ranks won’t drive your contract higher, regardless of who is on your NC. YMMV

So what is it you want? You want to know exactly what is being negotiated and as you said that's breaking confidentiality agreements. Do you want to be a union pilot? There are alternatives, let me know how that works out for you. Being in a union involves trusting the process that committees and elected representatives will represent you. It's a democratic process. If you don't like that go to a non-union shop. I think you are frustrated because you aren't apart of the process so you are going to upset the apple cart because of it.
