A lesson for the subcontractors

See the quote below regarding the ground unit. Why do you think they want to negotiate with each subcontractor individually? Why do you think we have seen all the turmoil with compensation for the ground unit subcontractors? Why are they against all the contractors negotiating together as a group?

Our subcontractor pilot group needs to understand this!

Keep acting like a subcontractor and we will continue to get subcontractor contracts. Keep justifying “whats best for me” and we will look like the ground unit soon.

“The model that governs the relationship between FedEx Ground and its contractors was “built around the recognition that each business has unique and distinct characteristics and entrepreneurial goals,” Smith wrote.

As a result, each agreement will continue to be negotiated individually, Smith wrote. He added that service providers attempting to negotiate financial terms as a group breach their contract with FedEx Ground.”
