My guess is the economic cycle we've experienced for a little while now peaked and is trending the other direction. What goes up must come down at some point. Maybe I'm an optimist, but shifts in trend are healthy for the broader economy. Especially in the current inflationary environment.

Agreed, the last two years were crazy and if anyone thinks that was sustainable isn’t thinking realistically. We have to regress back to the mean at some point.

The Company is parking the Md-10’s and ending some of the wet leases. I think those are the aircraft parkings they are talking about.

March of 2020 stock was below 100. The covid gravy train is over.

kind of unreal...except it's not. A pending recession has been on the scope for quite some time - MEC knew this (maybe didn't accept it...but they knew it). Yet we've decided to just push the ball along ever so slowly. Amazing when you think where we were about a year ago. So our pilot manning appears to be just about right in all seats - take a look at OT in all seats remaining this month. And now it looks like we may actually end up being overmanned in short matter. Things can turn incredibly quickly here.

Shame on us. You can look back through post months ago where numerous people said this was going to happen. Many choose personal enrichment over applying pressure to get a new contract. This happens time and again. What did they say about history and it repeating itself?

I hope that UPS and other logistic giants are also experiencing a slow down. This is Raj's first Quarter at the helm. I hope it isn't just us.

Wait until the Chinese economy collapses!

Oh “we” decided to push the ball slowly. Hmm Curious why you are placing that blame on us.

I’m guessing the Company has more to do with that than “we” did. Regardless, this is still the fastest we have EVER gotten to the economic section of negotiations and it appears with far less items open according to the Negotiating Grid. I’ll take the pace of this negotiation over any other dating back to the 1999 CBA.

I disagree completely with all of your post FWIW.
