With the sheer amount of retirements that won’t last for too long most likely. When they didn’t hire for 8ish months at the end of 19 early 20 they got way behind on staffing.

Like officially announcing in Nov 2006 that they'd decided to replace the 727 with the 757, after our brand new CBA agreed to accept "narrow body 727 pay rates" regardless if they chose the 737 or 757 to replace the 727. Another hidden concession in the 2006 CBA, as no other airline paid/pays the 757 at 727/737 rates. This old VHS tape is on loop baby!!
(Wait, wait....I'm now being told that's how we secured those big, beautiful, A380 rates!! Clearly, well worth it)

Not hiring for 4-5 months may hurt the recruiting. How many in the pool (if there is one) might go to a legacy and get some bodies beneath them and think “why go someplace that is only hiring at trickle” with a 7 year old contract that is less than industry standard with no TA in sight?”

Make no mistake. FedEx thinks she’s still the hottest red head in the room. (For our lady pilots insert ripped dude in a speedo.) Those of us that have made it here closed the door and quickly learned it’s a wig and those pearly whites are actually dentures. The light is on now for all potential newbies to see.

How many people are considering bailing this ship for a “prettier lady” lots of gals out there dancing. I wouldn’t wait in a pool for FedEx. And I wonder if junior guys or even guys here for some years are thinking about bailing this stellar management team.
