Let's be clear...the FedEx, purple promise mentality is gone, much like WN after Herb left. The only purple blood is from the wounds they inflict on the employees.
The new FedEx only cares about next quarter's earnings report and the shareholders. It does not give a rip about you or your family. The new FedEx will do everything in its power to give you less, whether that is pay, benefits or insurance. it will demand you do more for those decreased benefits. When you die, they will be respectful and then hire someone to replace you. Life in Memphis will go on. Remember, those are days that you will never get back. How much do they care that we hung it out all over the world during Covid, locked up in hotel rooms for years on end, getting sprayed with unknown chemicals, or enduring endless sort delays-again time away from your family and friends? They think we have already been compensated for that and they don't owe us anything.
YOUNG NEWHIRES ARE LEAVING. Management will continue to bury their heads up each other's hind ends and declare that this is the best job in the industry. It once was and has potential to be again....that is up to management. I am not optimistic. I encourage anyone with options to go elsewhere.
The airline is not run by flight management, even with their best intentions. It is run by lawyers and accounting. See the second paragraph. Their measures of success do not include whether or not pilots are satisfied or happy or if we are the best compensated with an up to date retirement package. Did the boxes move? If yes, they are moving onto the next meeting.

Young new hires are leaving, hardly. Yep, leave a stable company with second year wide body pay to take a pay cut, face furloughs over a long career. Interesting how one post from management about how ops are back to precovid and people are saying the sky is falling. When the union puts out a contract, then vote. I talked to a 23 yr United guy last week, he's missed out on 9yrs total of contributing to his only form of retirement due to layoffs.

The sky isn't falling, but make no mistake it's a different company.
Fred had the gravitas to tell Wall Street to pound sand and to work on 5 and 10 year timelines (which is smart). Raj can't do that. It took the activist investors something like a month to take Raj into the prison shower and explain how it's going to be - on a QUARTERLY basis.
Bingo. Just like that we are every $h1tty corporate entity in the US. Just here to have every nickel of value leached out by Wall Street as fast as possible.
