This must surely be the respectful, constructive dialogue you refer to Yuko…I wouldn’t count on Anthrax’s comments to be sited for the success of a coalition building exercise.

this is a great example of how you pick out a few examples in a sea of ones that are positive and civil

Let me give you an assignment, there are 41 posts in this thread right now. I would like you to add up all the negative posts that attempt to discredit the OP then tell me what percentage is not civil. I hope you take a look. Can you tell me what percentage is not civil? Or will you ignore my outreach for civil discord?

I think you are looking for a fight, we are not your opponent. I do not consider you on some dark side by voting not NO. We are going to need you after this is voted down.

as usual

what time is it! NO is the time!

I’m not looking for a fight at all….I even spoke up to defend someone with whom I have significant philosophical differences, when they were disparaged unfairly on this public forum.

Wondering how many of the negotiators already have a military pension.

Why does it matter? You think the NC is selling out?

The absolute most important thing is Scope…. Over anything else.

Not according to the pilot group polling, retirement was number one.

ACMI Carriers are Salivating for you to whittle down your Scope Clause..

Really? They need a contract with FedEx to fly for FedEX, freight just doesn't show up at their doorstep.

Honestly other than just typing pointless sentences, you have nothing of substance. You forgot we'll be a laughing stock at other airlines.

[QUOTE=FreightFlyer91;3671479] If, and that's a big if, you believe our total compensation is higher............IT SHOULD BE. We have 85% of our pilots on wide body pay as opposed to the big 3 having maybe 20%. That obviously makes our total average compensation higher as it should be. It should be way way way higher than the big 3.

Way way way higher, based on what, just your opinion or what we can negotiate. I guess greed isn't enough for some.

this clown, a reactionary no voter, came to jesus, and has seen the light, hallelujah! it’s now a simple business decision, the same tired mentality that eats away at our QOL for an inflationary pay hike.

its weak, and sad, and quite shameful. mostly weak.

Yuko, I would suggest this individual picks fight…I believe Stan446 gets kicks riling people up. I do not think antagonizing each other is a method conducive to arriving at a thoughtful conclusion

I'll say the same as I collect my retirement and you are enjoying those 4a.2.b wages.

[QUOTE=BeanBurrito;3671533]DHL Airways (later known as ASTAR because it went from an American company to a German owned company who could not own more than 49% of and American airline) had Art Luby to negotiate with DHL. …. DHL/ASTAR had the “best scope in the industry “ according to ALPA.

You do know DHL pulled out of the US market because they couldn't compete. The pilot jobs lost had nothing to do with scope and everything with DHL no longer having an airline in the US. Scope wasn't going to save anyone.

Yes I can totally see that, but did you see how the OP responded back? The OP kept it civil and just moved on. The OP chose not to give any oxygen to that fire. As a NO voter I love to see that bc it shows me the majority of folks are still civil even though we don’t agree. (APC has an ignore function to shield out certain users. This may also be an option. We will never get 100% civility).

See you on the other side of this, we will need all of us for TA 2.0.

what time is it! NO is the time!

Herc, debating the cost of wet leasing versus Purple pilots is completely irrelevant at this point. Our management has made it crystal clear to us that they will, IN FACT, be using “parter lift” as part of their plan going forward. Period. Trying to understand their logic is pointless. It’s an inevitability. What you and an abundance of our fellow pilots are agreeing to is a TA that will not protect our jobs. It will not significantly improve our QOL. It will give us a meager pay increase and improvement to our retirement. You continue to write things like “total compensation package” and other MEC/NC keywords, so I’m assuming you went to a road show or saw one virtually and their sales pitch worked. Isn’t the whole point of a union to protect jobs? Instead, ours is OK with the company selling our jobs to other airlines. Would a machinist union be fine just fine with the company hiring outside guys to come in and work at the plant in exchange for a raise that, by the way, doesn’t even match inflation? There’s still time to act reasonably and vote how your gut told you to. Your first instinct is usually right.
