I'm not sure it'd be worthwhile to learn an entirely new set of ways for the company to exploit language and screw pilots when we already know how they do those things under current book.

There is one other situation that isn't addressed in this TAFB discussion.
It doesn't happen often, but occasionally a multi-day pairing will be rerouted into Memphis due to freight\plane availability.
And when that happens, your trip is over.
The most lucrative trip (time away from home math here) happened back when I was a DC10 SO, I was on a tour america pairing and we landed in LAX with a contact CRS message. Told to hang out at the airport and in an hour or two we were returning to Memphis.
30'sh CH trip effectively turned into a PM O&B.

Currently I have buds on the 777 who also, rarely, get revised to return early to Memphis.
And once that's done, trip is over.

No, go to the hotel for a day or two of HSBY, just go home.

But we're pay protected for the original trip. Sure, we lose out on per diem, but I'd rather the time at home.

When there is a mentally handicapped bear in your house do you stop warning people about it? No, you bring it up all the time until it’s been thrown out.

Bro, you are such a FedEx fanboy it’s beyond cringe. Every chat, JF, this, Ab’s Senile Minority. You show up with your Fred Smith pom poms. Give it a rest.

It's called being a realist and actually having some experience in the industry. Give it a try sometime.

The excuse at the regionals was always “the margins are slim, there isn’t the money for that”.

The excuse at FedEx: “The margins are huge. The profitability is extremely consistent. But they don’t want to give us the new standard. I’m a realist, lower the ask”.
