Hey guys let me apologize for the thread resurrection in advance. I'm interested in contacting anyone who has personally done this or knows anyone who has went this route recently( within the last 5ish years). From what I can gather from the outside the corporate policy that allowed this to happen is still in place.(attached below.) As long as you're a permanent FEDEX EXPRESS employee who has met the time commitment you can apply internally VIA an internal job board for positions that you meet the published minimum qualifications. I've also read on this board that there was a period of time that there was some pushback on this policy from somewhere high up in Flight Ops. I've recently met the hiring minimums and as this is literally the only company I actually want to work for am considering this path to an interview via a permanent part time position while continuing to fly on my off days to maintain currency. Anything anyone is willing to share on the current viability of this path to an interview would be much appreciated either here or via PM. Thanks a bunch.
Promotion From Within Policy is designed to support employee career development within the company by giving employees priority in application, consideration and selection for any open positions. This policy aligns with the company’s P-S-P principle.

Did you meet the published hiring minimums while you working at fedex? I meet their published minimum criteria but my resume isn’t inline competitive enough to get a call yet.
haha, I tried like hell to do this. When I got into flying I worked at FedEx throwing boxes for 7 years with this goal in mind. Never happened. Honestly it would seem it meant nothing as I never was acknowledged about it. FedEx was the dream job as an airline pilot. But my back hurts now from throwing boxes and nothing to show for it lol. I have heard of people making this journey successfully. I'm not one of them though.
