Have you ever turned on the TV, or listened to the radio, or read the Commercial Appeal newspaper? Because if you had, you've "seen" crime. Big time. Of course, most guys I know who say they live in Memphis actually mean that they live in Collierville, Cordova, Germantown, Bartlett, or Olive Branch, etc, etc. Of the thousand or so guys I do know who live down there, perhaps 20 actually live in Memphis proper. Where do you live?

It makes no difference to me if you like Memphis or not. Aircum talked about the crime in Germantown and Collierville. I would put either city up against most in the country. Memphis proper - no way. The crime in certain areas is terrible. Fortunately very little makes it way to the suburbs, although some most certainly does. Unless your living in Mayberry (not including Otis), there is usually a small amount of crime. The suburbs are terribly boring, but very safe. This is just my opinion.

Would I live in MEM if I didn't work for FDX?
Once upon a time...That's the question I asked myself. The answer was no. Of course not. So, why would I think my family would want to? They didn't. So we left, and lived happily ever after.
