I don't think the "you're in the pool" statement means too much. It shows the same for me for both FedEx and Southwest, even though I have half a dozen thanks but no thanks emails from Southwest. It might just mean that your app is completed and has been submitted.

Yeah mine said "in the pool" before I ever finished filling it out. Some how it had defaulted to "published".

What if I have an FAA medical and a military physical? Which one do you think is better? (since you can only click one) Do you think I can let my FAA expire and just use the military one now? Would be nice to save a few bucks waiting for an interview...

Don't both FedEx and Southwest (and every other carrier for that matter) list a 1st class medical as a requirement? I'd keep it current just to be on the safe side and to be able to apply to any other jobs that pop up. FedEx is alot of people's first choice but why limit yourself? Plus, you'll need an FAA medical at some point. You don't want to be surprised by issues that pop up at the interview or post-hire!

I know interview calls have started to go out for those who've tested with FedEx last fall... Anyone heard of initial testing calls going out yet?

Albief15 03-04-2012 01:00 PM

Yes...a few have gone out. Not sure of all the details. But things are moving...

What it would be is penny wise and pound foolish. Maintain your FAA First Class physical.

Just an FYI for guys in the pool and trying to get hired.
I counted 40 New Hire unassigned slots from March to Jul 1st on the training letter today:

6 727 MEM F/O
6 727 MEM S/O
13 A-300 HKG F/O
16 MD-11 MEM F/O

There were 6-8 CGN 757 F/O slots a few days ago, but, they are gone now?

Good luck...
Looks like there are 9 A-300 MEM slots over the next few months, first one starting the end of March.
Next class might have a few choices of seats.

Looks like they changed 9 HKG slots to MEM slots. Still 13 A-300 slots total. That has got to be great news for guys/gals in the pool and interviewing this month!
