I am pretty sure that there is no longer a provision to meter to the line for the Pros. A few have been hired in the past year who would have direct info -- Bert, you out there?

Any idea as to the professional profile of those getting called for interviews? Total hours, aircraft type, graduate degrees?

No more metering Pros but they can apply after a two year freeze (no seniority #). It's a way to an interview. But they still have to meet quals, pass the interview (all phases) just as everyone else.
My point here is simple..... They are FedEx employees and (after whatever freeze they have...) when they apply for another job within the company (pilot, elevator operator, etc.) their applications are given priority over non-FedEx folks. That is in the People Manual which HR uses to ensure that FDX policies are adhered to in every personnel action. |

The competative resume has: -4500+ hrs (fedex minimums met) -a 4 year degreee from a meaningful college/university with a good GPA (grad school is good but not rewarded with more points) -a leadership profile (explained as advancing through the ranks, ie flight instructing to commuter F/O to CA, military 3P to AC, section lead to division lead, etc)...Natops IP's, Stan Eval, LCA's do earn extra consideration (not quantified). -He also encouraged sponsor's to call or email him with questions regarding their candidate's qualifications and where they are in the stack... They are pulling another 100 or so resume's to rack and stack very soon...if they haven't already...and they expect to keep that pace up throught the end of the year. Good luck bro's! |

A buddy of mine received an email a few days ago saying his profile was selected for a "possible" interview. Does anyone know if this is a good thing, or is it possible that he'll never hear anything else from them.
Thanks |

From what has been passed to me, I need to do the 2 years and then do a JCA, and if I am given the opportunity to interview then I will go through the same process as someone off the street. Glad to be here! Now to go practice some profiles...Oh, and teach and support! |

I recieved this same email yesterday along with a study outline. Has anyone else recieved it, and/or know what the timeframe would be to possibly getting called? Has anyone gone through the initial phase process that could shed light on the process?
Thanks |
Does the initial interview consist of only a written exam, with successful applicants then invited back for another visit for sim ride, etc.?
Or are all interview tasks accomplished during one visit to MEM? Thanks! |

I haven't heard of them sending this email out in the past. Maybe it's something new? At least you'll have a head start on studying for the test.

I've been here a while at FDX and some time working in Training. I'm pretty sure that there has never been a provision whereby Pros were guaranteed an interview and I am certain that Pros have not been given seniority numbers until they were in Indoc day 1/ hour 1.
