FDX Lax/ONT event

Lots of frozen trips every airplane next month LAX and ONT. Anyone know what the product launch is?

I think those were the added Walmart pairings that aren't going to fly anymore. There was an FCIF.

There was an FCIF out a few days ago. People who got the trips in the make up/CIC process can expect to see themselves substituted. I think these were WalMart add-on flights that have been cancelled? Why they have been cancelled as add-ons, I don't know.

Last month WalMart added two day shipping to compete with amazon. There were a LOT of X pairings out of LAX. I saw on some days 12 flights a day from LAX to MEM among the various fleets! I don't know if FedEx is still getting the business, has found a ground solution at lower cost to meet their needs, or if WalMart found another solution? Apparently, LAX was so backed up with a constant stream of trucks unloading that ONT was going to handle overflow? What changed in the past week or so, I don't know--anyone?

They froze those trips almost a week ago (on the Airbus), but they're still sitting there in open time, tormenting us. So if they're going to cancel them, why isn't it done by now? You don't need a week to cancel them. Makes me wonder if they aren't certain. Kind of screwed the people in the view/add windows and VTOs.

I was awarded one of those trips in the view add. It was too good to be true. I've called futures and crew scheduling, asking them to put me into substitution, before open time is released. Each is saying the other party is responsible to get rid of them. I was also told that it will take time to go through each one. I'm not sure why.

I was swept into Dallas the other night for extra freight. We were told that almost every night they need a sweep flight to come In To get the extra Walmart freight. Maybe the lax- Walmart freight needs more time to develop. Maybe they were too ambitious.
