Why would you even want to "qualify?"

RyanT 11-21-2014 03:36 PM

beeshe suppose

I would love to apply but I've been out of the aircraft since 2012 and have been flying large drones since. I have the hours, but would they consider RPA currency?

Unfortunately RPA currency would only probably get you an interview in the IT department. They don't count it for flying currency.

Im obviously not a candidate. Over 12,000 hours. 8000 hours PIC Part 121. Typed on A310, B744, A320 (current left seat), check airman, APD, AQP developer. Lake house in PikWik. ....sorry ..."you're not qualified".

I am totally surprised! With your credidentials, profile name, avitar, position... Wow! Not qualified!? Wow! Just wow! What were they thinking?

Do you meet all of their requirements? Including a four year degree? Have you been residing in the USA for the last five years? Are there any thing on your record "aviation or non-aviation related" that would make you not qualify?

Not throwing punches just asking questions

A330Checkairman 11-21-2014 08:05 PM

Determined.

Merica can't tell if that was patronizing or not??... Giving you the benefit of the doubt. So here is what I was told unoficially by a fedex Check Pilot. A numbering system/matrix exists. So, civilian only, over 10k flight hours, and more than 3 aviation jobs weighed heavily against me. So while I was not told "you are not qualified", what else should I think? Yes 4 yr degree, no violations, never terminated, no pink slips, US citizen...I did meet a new hire fedex pilot about the time I got the "thanks, but no thanks" notice and he was civilian, citation pilot, 6.5K TT, part 135 only... (Proud for this guy. Not knocking him at all)

FDX is my dream job and goal. I'm not giving up.

Got any Helicopter time?

Any Float Plane time?

Any Tail Dragger time?

Any Lighter than Air time?

Any Astronaut time?

No, but I have 3,000 in a B777 Freighter. Does that count?

Who's designing this process?

I got tons of md11 time without tearing off a wing but not good enough.

You wouldn't happen to jumpseat SFO all the time?
