Any idea how much weight FedEx places on advanced degrees and extensive formal academic education? Anybody?

Zero. What does this have to do with flying airplanes?
I'm not so sure that's true? Many years ago I flew with a FDX Check Airman that didn't have a college degree. They thought they were pretty lucky to get hired here! That was a long time ago ... has anyone flown with another FDX pilot who didn't have a degree in the past 25 years? WWAR (What Would Albie Recommend)? MM |

Read back a couple of pages. Everything but MD-11 LAX and possibly 757 MEM. It is quite possible for a grievance settlement that will turn off the MEM 76 pipeline for new hires for a while.

Greyhair:
If you are on the property, talk to your block rep. If not, it doesn't affect you. If you are not on the 757 FO seat and bid the 767 FO seat, it doesn't affect you either. |
I've searched this thread but cannot find the answer- apologies if it has been discussed before.. but, what is the correct way to enter flight times for GA aircraft on the application? I was not the "...captain/aircraft commander of record" while flying dual or solo in a Seminole or 172- so it doesn't seem appropriate to log it as PIC. However, the only options are PIC or SIC. How are successful applicants logging their GA time on pilot credentials? Thanks.

They relied that because 2 pilots were required that I could legally log that time. . |
New consideration for interview procedures
If you've had a recommendation from a pilot that worked at FedEx in the past in order to get an interview they will all be wiped clean this month and you won't have one (Feb, 2017).
The new process is that every pilot is given ONE (1) ENDORSEMENT every 10 years. If the person they ENDORSE gets hired, then they are reset and can ENDORSE another, but recommendations are a thing of the past. Bottom line is this... if you've received a recommendation in the past (which has pretty much been a qualifier for getting an interview in almost every case), you now don't have one. You will need to contact your sponsor and ask that they reinstate you under the new program. If they have given five recommendations in the past, however, you might not be the ONE that they select to ENDORSE in the future because they are only allowed ONE (verses no limit). You also get more POINTS if you have more than one ENDORSEMENT so don't be shy in asking for more than one if you know several pilots at FedEx. Good Luck. |

The Pilot Credentials "Recommend" page does not currently comport with the process you've described. (Also, it's versus. ;) ) . |

- Logged solo as PIC - Didn't log Dual Received at all because 1. the airplane doesn't require two pilots and 2. I didn't have a pilot rating at the time. |

My primary endorsement at FDX has not heard of this yet. |
