Both my sponsors have spoken with HR and looking specifically at my time: 1000 F15c and 1000T6 nearly all of it PIC and more than half IP time, the answer they got from HR is T6 time doesnt count for any of it based on both weight and not being multi engine turbo prop. Even my 150 T37 hours don’t count due to weight despite the multi engine. Their advice to my sponsors and thus to me was get another 500 hrs of Eagle time and wait for the call/email.

Multiple pilot friends of my sponsors have asked HR and their respective system chief pilots on my behalf if they really want to exclude T6 hours and all of their conversations it is an intentional decision by HR to exclude that category not out of spite or anything, just the desire to have more emphasis on heavier weight aircraft. Hope that helps clarify.

Here’s to more Eagle time, or maybe a regional...

Sadly many civilian and military guys were and are being prevented interviews by this misguided HR weight limit rule. Also, know a military heavy turbo prop guy who was a commander and has plenty of time cannot get a interview because he cannot click the jet box. i.e. no jet time. Thus not enough points to to be considered.

There are countless C-130 and P-3 pilots at FedEx that have been hired without any jet time. Are you saying that if you don't have jet time, you can't get hired?

Tell the commander “jet” really means “turbine” and to go ahead and check the box. I’m pretty sure even our previous Chief Pilot would agree with that.

Two former Chief Pilots (WM & DB) were Navy P-3 bubbas ... I'll bet they would have counted multiengine turboprop time as adequate for an interview.

Current Flight Management seems more reasonable than prior administrations. It seems like that should be a bonus for interviewees?

What I am saying it is a point system that only decides for getting the nod to be interviewed. Not being able to click the Jet box has limited many from having enough points to be considered in todays hiring matrix. The matrix gives points for many things that we as pilots do not consider such as the supposed quality of the college, community service, awards etc. I am not saying no one gets the nod without jet but the lack of it is sometimes a problem. What I was trying to point is that unless they really want you 1000 hrs turboprop would not be in the ball park for a interview. Not saying it's fair as I would not be hired toady as I was 98% turboprop and in 18 years no problems in training and a PCA just the way it is. The good news is the company has had the Hoffs reprogram some of the preferences in the Hoffs algorithm to consider more factors and give places for people to explain things. One being taking more that 4 yrs to get a college degree at first they thought that showed a lack of discipline. They never considered guys like myself had to work their way through college. etc.

Do that and get to the interview and be set loose for lying. Turboprop and jet are separate categories for a reason on the application site.

Sounds like your friend is ****-blocking himself because there is no such turboprop-exclusive "jet box".

This is the verbiage from PilotCredentials regarding qualifications for interviews:

1500 hours total fixed-wing time as pilot-in-command (PIC) or second-in-command in multi-engine turbo-prop A/C or jet A/C or combination thereof (GTOW 12,500). A minimum of 1000 hours total fixed-wing pilot-in-command in multi-engine turbo prop A/C or jet A/C or combination thereof (GTOW 12,500 or greater) is preferred.

I am not talking qualifications I am talking inputs to the Hoffs super computer Pilot credentials site , the one that ranks you via points for your experience, work and education history. The real problem is the legal department has for all practicable purposes taken over the pilot hiring process. But hey tell your friends to do what they want it does not matter to me.
