Default FedEx Hiring

Hi everyone, been browsing around here and decided to ask a question about my personal situation.

What are my prospects of getting on with FDX, with experience of:

5700 total time, of which
-3000 is 737 all right seat(Europe)
-2000 on a 777 right seat(worldwide operation from the Gulf)
-and the other 700 is piston(all in the US).
I do have a bachelors degree.

My concerns are:
-0 jet PIC time(about 500 PIC on the pistons)
-never flown for an air carrier in the US(although I am a US citizen with US ATP)

Thanks!

With zero TPIC, I’d say your chances are zero.

What he said. They drove home pretty strongly at NGPA that the 1000TPIC is not negotiable.

I thought they got rid of the TPIC requirement? ( not saying you'll get an interview without it, but none the less.)

Incorrect. 1000 TPIC still applies, and if it ever gets lifted, I’m sure it will have its own thread.

Is 1000 TPIC in a Twin Otter non 121 keep me in the running or is it hard set on 121 TPIC?

Pretty sure it changed when they changed over to the new system and got rid of pilot credentials. This is from the FedEx careers web page.. It now says 'preferred', not required.

https://careers.fedex.com/pilot-minimum-qualifications

Flying for FedEx Express
Commercial Pilot Certificate with multi-engine and instrument rating without limitations
ATP Certificate
Pass FAA mandated drug screen
First Class Medical Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
A degree from non-U.S. institutions must be evaluated for equivalency by a member organization of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES)
Eligibility for rapid visa issuance, issued by offices in the United States to fly to any FedEx destination
Eligibility for issuance of US Security Clearance
Current valid passport and other travel documents that allows the bearer to freely travel in the US and without restriction to all countries outside the US
1500 hours total fixed-wing time as pilot-in-command (PIC) or second-in-command (SIC) in a multi-engine turbo-prop aircraft, jet aircraft or combination thereof with GTOW 12,500 or greater. A minimum of 1000 hours total fixed-wing PIC time in a multi-engine turbo prop aircraft, jet aircraft or combination thereof in aircraft with GTOW 12,500 or greater is preferred.
Note: PIC for this purpose is defined as Captain/Aircraft Commander of record, not simply the sole manipulator of the controls. FedEx considers only pilot time in fixed wing aircraft toward minimum qualifications. This does not include simulator, helicopter, flight engineer, bombardier, navigator, RIO, EWO, WSO, NFO, or Special Crew.
All certificates and ratings are required to be US FAA issued
Radio Telephone Operators License
Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge Required
1500 hours total fixed-wing time as pilot-in-command (PIC) or second-in-command (SIC) in a multi-engine turbo-prop aircraft, jet aircraft or combination thereof with GTOW 12,500 or greater. A minimum of 1000 hours total fixed-wing PIC time in a multi-engine turbo prop aircraft, jet aircraft or combination thereof in aircraft with GTOW 12,500 or greater is preferred.
FedEx Express Pilots must be granted security clearance to access Security Areas [SIDA] of airports and are subject to the requirements of 49 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 1544. These requirements include employment history and criminal background checks, including a FBI fingerprint based criminal history check. This position also requires a Radio Telephone Operators License. The authority for collecting this information is 49 U.S.C. Sections 114 and 44936.s
Recency and type of experience is considered.

It's always said preferred. Internal scuttlebutt / guidance is it's not preferred, it's mandatory.

As far as I know, the horrible new app website did not have any effect on that 1000 TPIC requirement. Don't want you guys to get your hopes up.

"Preferred" allows them to hire demographically gifted applicants without being sued by demographically challenged applicants.
