I need a hotel for a night in MEM.

Any suggestions/rates? I prefer a hotel not in a free fire zone a.k.a. The Hollow Point Inn.

Here is some MEM hotel info I put together from a bunch of sources. Some may be outdated.

MEM FDX HOTELS

1. Courtyard by Marriott/Memphis Airport (1780 Nonconnah Blvd) – The hotel is located approximately 2 miles from the airport and is offering the following amenities to FedEx crewmembers:

a. Room Rates: $69 + tax (rolling 24 hour)/$59 + tax (overnight).
b. 15% discount at The Bistro.
c. Hotel shuttle to AOC and the “Gucci” Building on the hour and the half hour.
d. Mini-refrigerators in every room.
e. The hotel has a partnership with Marlow’s Restaurant on Elvis Presley Blvd. From 4-11PM there is a free shuttle service to and from the restaurant.

**When you make your reservation with the hotel, you will be transferred to the Courtyard by Marriott central reservation number. The Reservation Agent does not have the above room rate info in the system. Upon checking-in, the Front Desk will adjust the room rate from a FedEx Corporate rate to the Crewmember rate. The hotel phone number is (901) 396-3600.

2. Fairfield Inn and Suites/Memphis I-240 & Perkins (4760 Showcase Blvd.) The hotel is located approximately 5 miles from the airport and is offering the following amenities to FedEx crewmembers:

a. Room Rate: $62 plus tax. (Jan 1, 2013 rate - $67 plus tax)
b. Complimentary breakfast.
c. “On demand" 24/7 hotel shuttle to AOC and the "Gucci" building.

3. Residence Inn Memphis East (6141 Old Poplar Pike/off I-240 near St. Francis Hospital) The hotel is located approximately 11 miles from the airport and is offering the following amenities to FedEx crewmembers:

a. Room Rates: $69 + tax (rolling 24 hour)/$59 + tax (overnight)
b. Complimentary breakfast.
c. Manager’s Reception Monday through Wednesday (6-7:30PM).
d. Marriott Rewards will be applied to the stay.
e. No shuttle service.

**To make a reservation call the hotel at (901) 685-9595 and ask for the “FedEx Pilot Program” room rate. Please contact the hotel General Manager if you have additional questions.

4. Courtyard Memphis East/Park Ave (6015 Park Ave/off I-240 next to the St. Francis Hospital) The hotel is located approximately 11 miles from the airport and is offering the following amenities to FedEx crewmembers:

a. Room Rates: $69 + tax (rolling 24 hour)/$59 + tax (overnight)
b. Complimentary breakfast.
c. Mini-refrigerator in every room.
d. Marriott Rewards will be applied to the stay.
e. No shuttle service.

5. Four Points by Sheraton Memphis - Southwind (4090 Stansell Ct./off Hacks Cross near our corporate headquarters) The hotel is located approximately 12 miles from the airport and is offering the following amenities to FedEx crewmembers:

a. Room rates: $64 + tax (rolling 24 hour)/$48 + tax (overnight).
b. Starpoints will be applied to the stay.
c. "On demand" hotel shuttle to AOC from 6AM until 10PM. If you need transportation after 10PM, you need to tell the hotel when you make your reservation so a driver will be available.

6. Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites/Hacks Cross (4068 Stansell Ct./off Hacks Cross near our corporate headquarters) The hotel is located approximately 12 miles from the airport and is offering the following amenities to FedEx crewmembers:

a. Room Rate: $49 + tax.
b. Complimentary breakfast.
c. "On demand" hotel shuttle to AOC from 6AM until 10PM. Transportation is not available after 10PM.

What I've been doing lately, if I know for sure I'm going to be there, is book a hotel in East Memphis on Hotwire. Non refundable, but a better deal than anything here. I got what is supposed to be a pretty nice hotel (Hotel Memphis) for $53. 3 1/2 star hotel, they claim.

Hate to say it magicrat, but I think all the prices have gone up on your hotels. In particular the Holiday Inn Express and Four Points, they change their crew rate based upon whether they decide they want us there or not. I think the last time I called the Holiday Inn, the rate was way higher.

I just confirmed another pilot's suggestion about the La Quinta on Millbranch for $50/night. Havent stayed there yet but it looks good from the pictures and the pilot who recommended it said shuttle will take you to training, airport and HUB if you have no car available. Breakfast included.

I usually stay at either the Horseshoe or The Gold Strike casino. Go to their web pages to get the rate. Sunday through Wednesday's the rooms are usually less than 65 bucks a night.

Thanks for spending the time to accumulate and post all that timely and useful information. I'm sure guys here will appreciate it, even if no one bothers to say "Thanks."

A couple of changes:

The Residence Inn Memphis East rate is $109, not $69. The front desk didn't know anything about a FedEx Pilot rate but they did have a FedEx corporate rate, which is $109.

The Courtyard Memphis East/Park Ave is $89, not $65. And they may or may not give you that rate depending on their occupancy.
