Wonder how they're going to find a way to blame a loading issue on the flight crew. Always has to be pilot error, right?

But to the rest of us, it's an MD-11. Squared off, faired tail cone below the #2 engine would be the best way to differentiate a -10 from an -11 (in the Fox13 still picture).

And on a slow-ass MD-80 that tail fairing was called the bird splitter.

Since this was an offload, hard to pin anything on the crew. Although the local Memphis news folks did provide some entertainment as they discovered these new things like "gravity" that apparently affect airplanes.

The Flight Crew were long gone and awaiting their new release for the tail swap and resulting transload.
The Duty Officer even called the CA to confirm they were no where near it. "Near what?"
