Default Retro Pay/Signing Bonus...How much is enough?

Retro Pay .... How much is enough?

Last 3% raise was March 2012

For conversations sake let's call it 3 years without a COLA (March 2013-March 2016)

Lost earnings due to COLA

________________(3%)_____(6%)_____(9%)
Annual Earnings ....Year 1 ......Year 2 .....Year 3.........Total
$150,000..............$4,500......$9,000.....$13,5 00......$27,000
$200,000..............$6,000......$12,000...$18,00 0.......$36,000
$250,000..............$7,500......$15,000...$22,50 0.......$45,000
$300,000..............$9,000......$18,000...$27,00 0.......$54,000

This is just for COLA of 3%

Also .... This is simple interest ... Not compounded, etc., etc., etc.

Why are company's never in a hurry to negotiate?

If average pilot earnings are .... With 4,200 active pilots ....

Average Pilot Earnings......Savings on Compensation for 3 year delay
$200,000.........................$151,000,000
$250,000.........................$189,000,000

I know my numbers aren't exact .... Just rough estimates ...

Blast away

Agree, if the company can save a percent here and a percent there it equals huge MBOs for the company labor attorneys.

How did a rumor start on the Delta TA forum that we got 18% 1st year and 3% for 5 years with A and B fund increases....also a 50K signing bonus?

Rumors are just that, rumors. Until we see a TA passed along by our MEC, just push the ignore button.

Maybe ALPA national's server is hosted by the same people who keep the clintons server in the bathroom

So,the company started a rumor on the DALPA cite? I think the quote you are looking for is 2 can keep a secret if one of them is dead.

It all is speculation until the crew bus driver gives us the scoop.

But, if first year is 9-11%, I don't need to read any further--NO!

I don't want a 6 year "interim" contract rate. We're already at our third year so "missing" two 3% raises and then getting another 3-4% essentially on signing is not remotely close to acceptable. Delta's TA that was voted down was better than these numbers. We deserve industry leading, and not just for 6 months until we are leapfrogged.

If these low ball rumors are true, I hope the MEC does their job and sends it back to the negotiators. I'm not afraid of the what-if when that happens. Leverage is great right now, and peak would be beyond ugly for the company.

No way 5 reps would have voted No if this ridiculous Delta TA forum rumor was correct.
