FedEx chances saying no to overseas.
Working on my apps, still 18 months out and when it comes to relocating overseas I said no. I have a family of little ones and will have a reserve/guard commitment when I depart AD. Am I placing my app in the don't call this guy pile by saying I won't relocate overseas?
Thanks for the time. |
No one knows. It depends on your app, how desperate we wil be in 18 months, and how we'll manned we are in China and Germany in 18 months. If you think you are doing the right thing for you and your family, you probably are. Good luck.

Better to be honest on your app then back track later! I suspect you will be ok. My understanding is saying you will go to an FDA just moves your app to the front of the line.. YMMV

Yes. It specifically asks if you're willing to relocate overseas.

If they are ONLY going to offer you an overseas position then you made the right choice by saying no...it isn't right for you and your family. The numbers they need to fill the FDA slots is usually like 10 new hires per year. If we plan to hire 200+ per year then your answer will have little effect on your overall chances.

If someone applies now, but because of their military commitment, isn't offered an interview for say, 15 months, isn't it possible that, by the time the interview takes place, ones life situation might have changed, and therefore they might have to reassess their willingness to do the FDA thing. I don't consider that lying or misstating the truth. I consider it remaining flexible. If FedEx thinks you would be a good addition to their pilot force, they'll interview and hire you, providing you don't mess it up, regardless of whether you'll accept an FDA slot or not. The only difference might be in when, based on Company needs.

Put yes. Along with the company's situation, your situation may change. You can always, always turn down a job you are offered. This is not the military.
