Default Signing Bonus/retirement question

Lets say you are changing seats from F/O to Capt and you are activated between the TA and the date it is ratified. Which signing bonus would you get, Capt or F/O? I can't remember how that went with the last contract.

Same as if someone is retiring. Say you retire between the TA and the ratification, would you get the old or new retirement package (assuming they are different)?

Signing Bonus is determined by your status on date of signing. Don't know how retirement works - I haven't done that yet 😄

Anyone heard rumors on how much the signing bonus will be?

Anyone heard rumors about how it will be paid, as in, lump sum or split as has been done in the past?

So your contract has been up since Oct 31 2010 right? But then you got something in terms of boost in pay right, so how long has it been since you received any kind of increase.

2011 bonus was 1% of 2010 pensionable wages paid as a lump sum. Contract did not specify anything about seat position.

The contract that is in affect the day you retire is the retirement benefits you live with for the rest of retirement.

For the most part true, if you retire after the amendable date there can and has been some retroactivity.

Retro is the only true value to make one whole. A signing bonus is a scam brought on by Management to pay 50% on the dollar really owed.

Why Union leadership has let this Camel's nose under the Tent is beyond comprehension.

And a Signing Bonus reenforces the theory of dragging out negotiations for the company. Then in future contracts, they delay to save $.

See Tony C's respose some time ago about the change in accounting rules that effectively prohibit a true retro pay.

2011 wasn't 50%, nor do I tkink 2006 was (although I don't have the details on my iPad)
The amount is negotiated, but whatever the percentage, it's better than the 0% received after our first contract was signed
