How about everybody stepping back and taking some deep breaths. We haven't even seen the actual document.
Do you think it would be beneath the company to leak some info that might possibly be intended to lower the expectations of the crew force?
Nah, that would never happen.
Relax, let the process work. When presented with a TA, read it and then come on here and tell us why you do or don't like it.

Sending it to the membership will either have a 50%+ ratification or delay going back to the table.

Kind of hard to debate when we don't know the details. Would be nice if those who claim to know would actually provide us a more comprehensive view. Though apparently some are insisting on votes against it without knowing anything whatsoever.

Look, I have no idea how'd I vote because I haven't seen the details. A majority vote against would actually send a stronger message to management than an attempt by ALPA leadership to prevent the rank and file from even having a say. We said the NC spoke for us, and now the NC wants us to take a look.
Trust your brothers and sisters! Don't appoint yourself as the elite who is protecting the ignorant masses... arrogance is not attractive in anybody.

Interpretation: "We certainly can't afford to let the majority rule when I know better!"

It is my belief that the company will meet a higher standard to make the pilot group content. I could be wrong, but I am willing to take that risk if the MEC/LEC will move to a NO vote.
I did not appoint myself as the elite....I am asking those in a position to stop this to give it very serious consideration.
PS - the NC wants the MEC/LEC to take a look - not the pilots yet. That is the phase I am addressing. You're getting ahead of the process with your comments.

Type out the rest of what you know.
Also, there was a handout going around the AOC today, but I didn't know about it until after I got on the jumpseat. Does anyone have a copy they can post?
The bump for over 16 hours. Does it only apply to that particular leg? Or is it applied to every credit hour for the entire 12 day trip. In other words, if you go around the world, and only have one 16 hour leg, do you only get 16 hours work of override, or do you get override for the entire 12 day trip?
What about the VEBA 25K issue?
What about draft pay for all holidays for which the company requires a doctor's note?
What about night override?
What happens to the B fund money after the IRS caps are met? Do we get paid the money in our regular check, or does is just disappear as some have said?
I get that the company didn't want to raise the cap. Couldn't the union have asked for the multiplier to be raised instead? Our retirement is shrinking on a yearly basis, and the union couldn't make it a priority? I can hear it now, "but we kept the retirement from being split". Whoop tee do. You maintained the status quo, and you claim that as a victory? YGBSM.
These questions, and more, must be answered before an intelligent decision can be made.
In the past, the union has emphasized the good (hidden money, anyone?) and glossed over the bad (hidden side letter allowing the company to optimize).
Can you trust your union to give us the facts?
Or will your union give us a snow job, so the officers can claim success, and move on to national leadership?

Patches,
Thanks for the info. Did you compare American's 12 year pay to our potential 15 yr scale?
It is simply my opinion that the A fund should maintain pace with inflation. So no A fund increase will be a NO vote for me. Is there a reason we could not potentially earn more than 50% of the cap at say 2.4%/yr up to 60%?
