Default Things I (we) don't like about TA

While reading the steaming turd of a CONTRACT EXTENSION TA, I started keeping track of aspects of it that I didn't like or concessionary statements...and there's many. In talking to a crew member, he picked up on some that I missed because everybody is different and each has there own priorites/needs. So, I thought I'd start a thread so we all can get all the negatives and their possible scenarios out in the open.

So, to start:

6 week bid month: Surely laid over Xmas/NYE, and will cause lack of flexibility and loss in QOL. "We're not going to mess with your vacation policy, but we're going to change the field as to how it can be used...".

R Day carryover into month of lineholding: Used to be that the now lineholder drops R days in favor of trips, NOW, the trip is dropped INSTEAD of R days. So R days take priority?

Sleep room instead of hotel: I know for some, going to the hotel is a pain, but don't force me to now get my linens, make my own bed, listen to the guy next to me snoring, get up, unmake my own bed, and stumble out into the masses to clean myself up for work.

Dash-8 intra-europe DHs?: So, Paris to LHR will now be on a Dash-8? What's the fare going to be 49 dollars??!! Goodbye to midtrip deviation and enjoying a train ride.

Biz class or better?: Riiiiiiiiight..........

6 Year contract: Which means in reality a 8-9 year contract....that's a long time people

Hotel CANX: So, if I choose to advise (again, CHOOSE because it's not in the contract now for us to do so) the company to canx my hotel, I get some cash towards DH bank...what 30 bucks? Can I use that to upgrade my seat on the Dash-8? Do they think we are THAT cheap?? I gain more satisfaction in knowing that I DIDN'T canx the hotel IAW current CBA.

Please pile on, as I'm sure you all see stuff that I am missing.
NO VOTE for this guy....

*6 week bid months (there will probably be more than one of these as well)
*no increase in A plan
*hourly rates too low
*retro payout too small
*the Dash 8 400 thing is confusing. There are already scheduled dead heads in the CGN bid pack that use turbro props (example an Air France ATR42/72 from CGN to CDG). So I'm not sure what underhanded tactic they are going for by naming a specific aircraft type here.
*no resolution to our sick leave doctors note harassment grievance in this TA
*the loss of hotel room on a 4 hour hub turn
*no increase in vacation and sick leave credit per day (6 hours per day is too low on certain trip types)
*no increase to the base housing allowance for the FDAs
*loss of first class DH when lie flat business class is available

Things i like:
*the 6 year duration. I predict the contract after this one to be even worse (work rule wise)

I'll add the 18 hour deviation check in requirement. I read that as: get ready for using one more day off to get into position with the upcoming TNT acquisition and the use of our 767 to/from Europe. I also read that as: we will get rid of the standby crews in CDG, HKG, and CGN.

Long time listener, first time poster...

-A FUND. No improvements. Not good.

-Six year deal? More like 8-10.

-Six week bid periods. I view this as a big concession, especially in December.

-Business instead of First Class. Concession.

-767 crew rest issues.

-Health Insurance. Don't quite understand it all, but to me it looks like our costs are going to significantly increase!

-Dash-8 Deadheads? What? Are we buying some for CDG, CGN, LGG intra-europe flying?

-Scope. I worry that without specific language, they will use whatever company the TNT flying operation turns into, to fly more of the intra-europe stuff.

Need more Rum!

- Accepted fares not addressed/fixed.

- Scheduling transparency minimally touched for reserve leveling. A joke.

- Bid line adjusting/QOL scheduling issues completely untouched.

It DEFINITELY left out the "Me Too" that American, United, & Delta TA had for pay rates. That would put pressure on management to negotiate in better faith & hopefully quicker next time around.

Haven't seen it yet but from discussion seems like only gains were protecting A plan as is and avoiding PBS

I think the accepted fare is now the higher of original posting or when they actually buy a ticket for the pairing (at least the 1st time they actually buy a ticket).
