You realize that the lump sum distribution has absolutely nothing to do with the TA. The distribution was ALPA's methodology. The company gave us a chunk, and we decided how to divvy it up. You can vote this down, we can get another TA, but nothing says that the union will not divide it in exactly the same way.

When a pilot goes out on LTD, they get 60% (reducing to 50% after 2 years) of their highest 12 months pay over the preceding 3 years. While they are out, they get no COLA increases, no longevity bumps. They are frozen at their old pay rate. What "bonus" do they get when they return to the line? Nothing. So two identical pilots, out for the same amount of time, should be treated differently because one was on LTD while we were in negotiations and the other wasn't? If the argument is that it isn't fair to the pilot who was on LTD during negotiations, should a pilot who returned from LTD and was active throughout the negotiations receive something extra? If a pilot retired in March 2015, two years after the amendable date, only gets a prorated portion of the bonus but the pilot out on LTD gets the entire bonus...is that fair. Not taking sides.
