[QUOTE=Viper446;1976446][QUOTE=Raptor;1976387]Both 1) and 2) are divided by 2.
Example, with pay rate of $260 per CH.

Have DSA bank on retirement of 686. Take 686 times $260 and get $178,360. Divide that by 2 and get $89,180.

Have final 2 years earnings of $580,000 plus $52,000 vacation buyback plus $35,000 signing bonus (for retirements within two years of TA signing date of November 2nd) = $687,000 - $520,000 = $167,000 / 2 = $83,500

Thanks, I appreciate the numbers. So a full sick bank is only going to be worth $89K under the current pay rates? I think I'd rather work another 5yrs, use the sick and make another 1.4 million, based loosely on $286/hr, 965 hrs/yr and 5 years.

You'll live longer doing it this way.

When I first heard of the TA I thought the 110K buyout of DSA, and your vacation buyback plus the signing bonus we're going to be cumulative. In the end, it looks like after working your fanny off for your last two years with no vacation or sick time used to get a bonus of 110K MAX.

That amount of work for that amount reward you'll be ill the day you retire. No thank you.

Vacation buyback in the year you retire hasn't changed and it's in addition to. To max out the VBB you'd have to not use any vacation your last year only (which would be tough for me to do). Maxing it out is about $144,700 (WB Cap 2020) and you can retire any day after Oct 16th.

If for some reason you want to stay to Dec 31, you might get the 2 SLBs (more than what you leave with now).

Is it not the lesser of the two?

Yes, that quote was just to clarify with a previous poster that hadn't based math on 1/2 of the value.

To recap, lesser of 1) and 2) and not to exceed $110,000.

So the Company is short pilots. In the TA they have come up with a scheme to keep guys here longer by throwing them some $.

Assuming that say 25% of those guys were to use up their sick bank, they would get more $ out of it and the Company would be less more bodies.

And if one took the deal and never called in sick or took vacation, working their butts off, you would have to assume that their life expectancy would be less.

Gotta hand it to their negotiators. Trying to kill two birds with one stone. When I really think about it, it is pretty insulting. On top of no increase in the A plan.

Some might think this benefits the senior over the junior, but in reality, I dont think so. Illusory.

It almost seems like a pretty dark plan from the other side of the table doesn't it?
