Actually it should be overspent...
Ask your block rep. 7+ is the real number...(or so the crew bus driver told me...)

Not so much they spent money, but the former Officers overspent the special reserve funds that are just that, reserves. To be used for things like self help, not to fund flight pay loss for special committee chairs...but hey, some guys must have some great status with Marriott now.

So you are confident that our MEC allows the Officers, unilateral, spending authority? Jeez, I would hope ALPA used a budgeting and approval process by the MEC. I guess it is time for an audit and adding some policy changes to have MEC oversight on Officer's wild spending spree. I hope we can get the light on this problem before another rogue Officer goes on a bender.

Unbelievable--now I'm disappointed and ****ed. Can anyone confirm if this TA doesn't pass and we recall the officers there will be an audit. This is one of the reasons our officers and ALPA national need it to pass. I heard this is one of the reasons so many of the failed Delta ALPA guys resigned. They knew they couldn't stand up to the scrutiny of an audit. Vote NO and get these guys out. We need some people who actually care about the line crew members. I'll take Anita, Mike and Don, over the yes votes any day.

Amazing how some of you are willing to smear people randomly, just because you disagree with their vote. I can't imagine why anyone would ever want to be a union rep or negotiator ever again. Apparently there must be plenty of volunteers here, to do their job? Sounds like such fun, partying it up in the Marriott. Whoopee.

I think there are some controls on what is spent. We have some good people in the union leadership.
Don't we file some pretty involved financial forms with the government each year? I don't think we operate like in the Hoffa days anymore...at least I hope not!
I seem to recall when we rejoined ALPA the second time that we put a substantial amount of money in ALPA national's major contingency fund. And, I think that money was earmarked for us in some way? Anyone have any memory/details on that and if it's still available for us?
What I was more concerned with from the post on the other site was CF's threat to recall Anita and berating her--undeservedly just because she is doing exactly what she should be doing and communicating to her block.

No matter what, us pilots are all in this together. Remember who it is trying to take from our CBA on the other side of the table: the company lawyers, nobody else.

Exactly! I wouldn't trade my layovers, doing what I want, for a 'union-paid' layover, working my butt off, answering phones, emails, working on analysis, etc... I actually hope they are staying in nice, comfortable hotels, to get decent rest to help represent us properly.

We are all in this together. We shouldn't be fighting with each other, just trying to determine the facts and helping others decide what is the best course of action for the group. I don't see why it is necessary to attack other people personally.

As a matter of fact...

I would even go as far as to say contact a former SEc Treas, one or two back, as they have supposedly been asked by CD and RZ to look at the books and go through them in detail as when the new officers came in, they were shocked at how much spending went on.
I'm confident in my sources, and my block rep acknowledged the issue. To the point that some admin policies have been changed as a result with greater oversight being implemented.
The attitude of rubber stamping whatever SS and SM put out is pretty common knowledge, but you would know that wouldn't you?
