History of FDX TA rejection?
Can someone more knowledgeable please enlighten us? When has the pilot group at FDX rejected a TA, draft contract, LOA, (whatever the term) and it has resulted in anything other than years of uncertainty, further negotiation, gnashing of teeth, and then a worse deal later. In other words, when has the path advocated by the majority of APC posters resulted in something better? What was the outcome?

In short:
We rejected a T/A in 1996 under ALPA. You really should read the above history as it explains in detail how we got to that point. Then ALPA was replaced by the FPA and we rejected another T/A in 1998. In 1999 we voted in our first CBA that was a definite improvement (but not much of one) over our previous "at will" status. That CBA was actually poorer by (If I recall correctly) by about $125,000,000 from the original offer because the company said they had to pay for all of their contingency plans if we had struck. I like to term it "The Articles of Surrender".
We voted our first union in in 1993 and got our first mediocre CBA in 1999.

One more thing: in 2001 FedEx approached the FPA about a side letter concerning the upcoming postal contract. You should read how those negotiations went...
