FDX: min days off protection with carryover

To protect min days off in the following bid period, does it matter whether a carryover trip was 1)awarded in monthly bid award, or 2)picked up?

Thanks.

I am 99.99% sure that it doesn't matter. That you could even have the trip in PDO status or MUV, or anything. Min days off protection applies. However, I have been wrong about things before (once):D, so maybe someone else can confirm.

Thanks busdriver12 and Dadof6. I really appreciate it.

I am quite certain that a trip flown in a status other than trp i.e. M/u, CIA etc waives days off protection. Something this important(especially this time of year) should be confirmed with crew planning rather than APC. IMO only.

I am quite certain you are wrong, as M/U and CIA are treated the same as TRP in the exact same way for every single thing except for which bank it comes out of---however, it would be a good idea to confirm it with futures, in these months in particular. And of course, what happens if the TA passes? Many different rule changes.

Yeah, I thought I was bitten by this once a few years ago with a carryover trip that was coded as M/U or CIA or maybe even MUV. I picked it up in the hope of protecting min days off the following month, only to find out I had to fly the C/O trip, without any possibility of dropping it of course, and the full schedule the following month. It's hard to believe I would have forgotten the details, but it's been a few years. I appreciate the feedback on here and have also written Futures. I will post their answer on here.

Thanks pmwc.

If there's any chance whatsoever, you definitely don't want to blow Thanksgiving, definitely check it out! One thing you could also do, is get it recoded. Have a friend pick it up from you on a one way trip pickup, then immediately pick it back up. I think that recodes it from makeup, to swap.

Thanks bd12, I had heard about that. I'll put that to use if necessary.

From Futures:

"Any assignment that is a makeup, cia, muv, etc., or advance volunteer, anything you choose to do to your own schedule, waives all, including mindays."

This bit me once with a CIA c/o. I cannot believe I didn't remember it more clearly.
