Icing on the cake!

IMO it's pretty sad and typical. The EU gives FedEx the nod only days after our contract is ratified. They were waiting on us to fold so that they would be comfortable with FedEx taking over TNT. We had to power we were just too weak to use it. IMO. Now, UPS has a 99% vote yes for a strike! It would've been nice to have some of those guys with "no fear" on our property.

Oh well, hopefully we can use their contract as a base 10 years from now

Which part do you want to model?

Internal NURPs flying revenue lines?

A training department void of line pilots?

Flying on your own jumpseats to work and back vice a commercial deadhead?

Furloughing 200+ pilots for several years?

You would think based on some of the posting here the IPA would make UPS the most desirable job in the industry. I think if you ask around, most would chose to come here or another Legacy, although there are still some who have UPS as a first choice. Why don't we wait and see what the IPA gets this round before we all decide to for a union merger...

Are you serious? The EU doesn't give two craps about our contract being ratified. They're looking at competition issues.

I did hear the sun is now going to start revolving around pilots thought...so, you got that going for you.

I'm not too savvy on the multi-quote thing, but...

1. Internal NURPs flying revenue lines?

Yes, this is a huge point of contention, I was assured this will be addressed in the T/A

2. A training department void of line pilots?

While we would like 100% of the training and checking, we do currently have 75% of "surge" (vacancy bid) and 25% of recurrent training. We have zero checking. I was assured this will be addressed in the T/A as well.

3. Flying on your own jumpseats to work and back vice a commercial deadhead?

I look forward to seeing improvements in this area.

4. Furloughing 200+ pilots for several years?

It was 109 for several years. After Flight 6 the company halted the furlough.

This is a great job with great IPA people. I think there is good and bad with every carrier. I have run into many great Fedex and Delta guys on the road and have had great discussions comparing the carriers. I think our management structure is the most hostile of all the carriers, but as time goes by, I see that same management philosophy slow trickling into boardrooms around the world.

I hope your next contract kicks ass and makes ours look like a mistake, I don't think we are competing with each other. Today however, I wouldn't trade our contract with anyone. And I am not sure ther are many of us that would.

Can you show me an airline that offers that? But the nuance to our contract, I can always cancel this mythical coach seat and book my own since I will get reimbursed at the higher class of service.

Even a fool is thought wise if he keeps silent, and discerning if he holds his tongue.

Proverbs something or another.

I'll send you a bottle of 15YO Laphroig the first time I have to ride coach with a lie flat seat. You've fallen for the "Proponents of Hysteria".

You aren't a wise fool with over 7000 posts.
