FDX CDG Hub
Anyone who remembers 9/11 on the CDG ramp won't be surprised.......
French terrorist probe extends to FedEx hub in Paris
French authorities examined FedEx Corp.’s Paris hub after the recent terror attacks.
FedEx spokesman Jim McCluskey said the company cooperated with French authorities during the security sweep of the airport area.
“French authorities as part of security measures taken in the aftermath of the tragic attacks on Nov. 13, did come to our hub based in Roissy-CDG,” McCluskey said. “We are fully cooperating with authorities and will continue to do our utmost to maintain a high level of security.”
CDG refers to the Paris airport known as Roissy Charles de Gaulle. Memphis-based FedEx located its major European cargo hub at the airport.
McCluskey commented Tuesday after the American news network CNN reported
French police searched three carriers at the airport: Air France Cargo, Servair and FedEx.
CNN said: “Intelligence services in France are investigating Islamist radicalization among employees of the main Paris airports and public transport operators.”
Ground and air transportation unions have been complaining about radicalization among some workers for several years, CNN reported.
In its report, CNN said a French counterterrorism source noted workers have been monitored "a couple of years" including the "national railway service SNCF, Paris public transport company RATP and airports such as Roissy Charles de Gaulle and Orly."
Samy Amimour, one of the three attackers in the November 13 assault at the Bataclan theater in Paris, had been a bus driver for RATP until October 2012, CNN reported.
