Precisely. I have been trying to make that point in the FedEx hiring thread and many other threads before that. A bunch of people don't understand how pass over works, they just feel it should work the way they think it should work, and it doesn't. Pretty tough to bid for passover. If you bid it and you hold it, you will most likely go to training in order. If you don't you will probably get passover at some point. If you don't actually bid the higher seat you will never get it.

On the practice bids, the crew resource guru just hits the <enter> key and lets it run then publishes the results after our Radio Shack PS80 runs it's fortran program.

On the real bid like today it's the same process but the results are rumored to be scrubbed for accuracy so that takes awhile -- just like the subsequent training letter which will take about a week or two...
